Senior Managing Director and Head of Research
Ben Bonsall is a Senior Managing Director at Raven with over 20 years of investment experience across leveraged finance, credit research and restructuring. Mr. Bonsall is responsible for overseeing and further developing Raven’s research function, including diligence, underwriting, structuring and execution of investments, as well as ongoing portfolio monitoring, and serves on the Investment Committee. Prior to joining Raven, Mr. Bonsall was a Managing Director and Director of Research for the U.S. Liquid Credit Group at Ares Management, a $50bn platform investing in syndicated Leveraged Loans and High Yield Bonds where he served on the group’s investment committee. While at Ares, he led a research team responsible for underwriting and monitoring loan and bond investments across multiple credit strategies. Prior to Ares, Mr. Bonsall was an Associate with Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Structured Finance practice, where he constructed and advised on the issuance of Consumer & Esoteric Asset-Backed Securities.
Mr. Bonsall received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, with a minor in Mathematics, from the University of Pennsylvania and is a CFA Charterholder.
